We have been looking at the movement of traffic through our Car Park at the beginning and end of our school day. Our car park is becoming very congested, particularly between 2.45 – 3.00 pm each day and we have growing concerns about irresponsible driver behaviour which puts our children at risk. We have invited the Police to come and help us with this issue and they will also be meeting with our JRSOs and our Health and Safety Committees. You can help keep your children safe by:
Walking with your child to and from school if you can;
Parking only in the designated spaces;
Keeping entry and exits clear;
Using the pedestrian gate.
Please do not:
Walk out through the vehicle gates with your child – other children might copy this;
Take or ask your child to go between parked vehicles to reach your car;
Park at the entrance or exit of the car park – this obstructs the flow of traffic and slows everything up;
Park along the grass verge adjacent to the parking bays.
Thank you all for your co-operation with this. We realise that many of you have younger children with you and understand why you want to park close to the school gates. However, cars and children are not a good combination and we want to make our car park as safe as we possibly can for the children.
